1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how StashCash handles information when you use the StashCash iOS application and this support website. StashCash is an independent, local-first savings planning app.
StashCash is not a bank and does not connect to, access or move money from your financial accounts.
2. Information stored by the app
The app may store the information you enter, including account names, balances, savings goals, transaction records, account colours and icons, notification preferences, currency-symbol preferences and date-layout preferences.
This information is stored locally on your device. You do not need to create an online StashCash account to use the app.
3. Information StashCash does not collect
- Bank usernames, passwords or account credentials
- Payment-card or bank-account numbers
- Your FaceID biometric data
- Your contacts, photos or precise location
- Your savings records for advertising or data brokerage
4. FaceID
If you enable FaceID to Unlock, authentication is handled by Apple and your device. StashCash receives only the result of the authentication attempt. The app cannot access, view or store your facial biometric data.
5. Notifications
If you grant notification permission, StashCash can schedule goal, weekly encouragement and payday reminders on your device. Notification preferences can be changed inside the app, and permission can be withdrawn in iOS Settings.
The Privacy Shield setting can reduce sensitive details in supported goal notifications. Payday reminders do not include account names or monetary amounts.
6. Home Screen widget
If you use the Pro Home Screen widget, a limited display snapshot for your selected account—such as its name, icon, colour, formatted balance and goal progress—is shared with the StashCash WidgetKit extension through an Apple App Group on your device.
7. Data exports
If you choose to export your data, StashCash creates a file containing your account and transaction information. You control where that file is stored or shared. Treat exported files as sensitive and protect them accordingly.
8. Purchases
When StashCash Pro purchases become available, payments will be processed by Apple through the App Store. StashCash will not receive your complete payment-card details. Apple’s own privacy terms apply to App Store transactions.
9. This website
This support website does not require an account and is not designed to collect savings information.
If you choose to submit the feedback questionnaire, you will be taken to Google Forms. Google processes the information you submit under its own privacy terms, and your responses are made available to the StashCash developer through the StashCash support Google account. Feedback is optional. Please do not include account balances or other sensitive financial information.
10. Data retention and deletion
Your app data remains on your device until you edit it, use Reset All Data, or remove the app. Device backups may retain app information according to your Apple and iCloud settings.
11. Children’s privacy
StashCash is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as StashCash develops or legal requirements change. The latest version and its effective date will be published on this page.
